I attended Lamar University and received a Business Degree with a Legal Concentration – AAS.
I am currently a retiree with the state of Texas after working different programs as a social worker and case manager for twenty-five years. I worked with the medical and dental community in order to get children screened at any early age. I was also very active with the Headstart Program, in working with the nurse to get the babies to the doctor and the dentist.
I was on the Headstart Board at the library. Worked with the Language Institute and local libraries to help students to get their GED.
Worked with Employment Services at Lamar Institute of Technology as a Case Manager. I helped to get students in training and did job developing for them. I worked for the City of Port Arthur in the WIC Department (Women, Infant, and Children); also as a Tobacco Presenter and gave Health Presentations.
I worked with a program called Community Prosecution. We worked with the Truancy Court for teens and some adults that needed community service. We were able to put teens in anger management and self-esteem classes and counseling if necessary.
I am also a Survival Skills Facilitator Workshops on child management, money management, how to be an advocate for yourself, how to plan for a crisis and many more.
I have two children; Tiffanie and Robert and the proud granny of four; Roman, Bovia, Landon, and Lauryn. I also belong to Mt Sinai Baptist Church for twenty-six years.
